Amalgam Filling Removal

Mercury in amalgam filling materials. An essential part of our service is removing toxic amalgam fillings and replacing them with biocompatible composite materials.

Our process is unique in that we consider the whole body impact of removing the mercury toxins that have likely accumulated over the years in a safe and healthful manner.

One major contributor of toxin impacts to the human body is from a commonly utilized non-biocompatible dental material. Known as amalgam, it may have been used by your dental professional during one of dental checkups.

An amalgam is created from a mixture of metals. The amalgam used in silver-colored dental fillings contains approximately 49% metallic mercury, 35% silver, 9% tin, 6% copper, and trace amounts of zinc. When the amalgam is first mixed, it is a soft paste which is inserted into the tooth surface. It hardens within 30 minutes.

There are numerous types of amalgam fillings - all of which contain various amounts of mercury.

Mercury is known to adversely impact numerous neurological and physiological functions of the body plus many other impacts upon human health. Select this link to view the health impacts caused by mercury and other heavy metal toxins.

We have also compiled some exceptional information on how mercury impacts human health. This research is available at this link, Toxins - Mercury in Amalgams.

Since 1975, we have followed several protocols for the detoxification of mercury and other heavy metals. The detoxification methods developed over this period of time have been proven to be very effective.

We have found the use of vitamin supplements that are made of real food greatly helps the process more than any thing else. It's the difference between natural and synthetic. We are easily able to confirm this with the patient utilizing using Muscle Response Testing (MRT).

During the treatment phase we utilize MRT to follow our detoxification process. There are very few complications when patients adhere to our treatment process.

Typically a complete detox program requires a period of 5 months and begins 4 weeks before the removal of any amalgams. Also we recommend at least 3 days between amalgam quadrant removals. The vegetarian protocol (regimen) needs to be determined individually also, but will usually take much longer to detox the body, e.g. twice as long.

Program Sequence Summary

Amalgam Removal and Heavy Metal Detoxification

Initial Interview

Preliminary dental examination to determine amalgam extent and preliminary toxicity impact is conducted at our office. You are given a questionnaire and an informative information package for further study. This package includes extensive information on mercury impacts, dietary recommendations and life-style enhancements. It is important for the patient to fully understand the process.

Home Study and Questionnaire Completion

Complete all health and dental questionnaire's contained in the package. This is an essential phase that establishes an important base-line when monitoring patient progress.

Also read the health information. It is important for the patient to fully understand the exclusive and proven process implemented by Dr. DeFelice.

Initial Examination

In this process Dr. DeFelice reviews the completed questionnaires, conducts a visual examination, conducts a overall health assessment and determines the patients existing toxicity levels through Muscle Response Testing (MRT).

Patients must bring samples of any medication, vitamin or mineral supplement currently being taken. It is important that each of these is tested via MRT to avoid negative interactions and optimize the detoxification process.

Based on the results of the patients tests, a detoxification regimen is developed and patients are counseled on its proper implementation. Supplements are also provided to the patient. It is very important to closely adhere to the regimen. It is specifically design for the patient.

The detoxification process must begin, approximately 4 weeks, before any modification of existing amalgams.

A procaine wash it typically implemented to begin the process to improve the body's "Bioenergy or Life Force" and further minimize toxic impacts of the removal process.

More information about the technical aspects of the detoxification process is available at this link.

Detoxification Review

This examination reviews the effectiveness of the implemented detoxification process and determines the optimum time for the amalgam removal process to be scheduled.

Amalgam Removal/Biocompatible Filling Replacement

Depending upon the extent of the amalgam fillings and the effectiveness of the detoxification process, the patient begins the filling replacement process within 4 weeks. Each appointment typically covers a specific quadrant. Fillings are replaced with a highly durable biocompatible composite material that strengthens the teeth.

Detoxification and Health Monitoring

You will be closely monitored during filling appointments and possible subsequent evaluation times. Each patient responds uniquely to the treatment process and each phase must be monitored.

The results of each appointment phase is closely compared to your questionnaire responses to monitor improvements to your health. Supplements are modified as needed during the course of detoxification.

A life-style supplement regiment is recommended upon completion of the detoxification process to insure that on-going environmental toxic impacts are minimized and the patient's health is maximized.
